16th August 2026
Fethard, Co. Tipperary

Forged In Ireland is delighted to return to the historic town of Fethard for the 2026 Fethard Centenary Festival — a special celebration marking 100 years of community, heritage, culture, and tradition in the heart of Tipperary.

Across the weekend, the sound of hammer on anvil will once again ring through the streets as smiths from around the country gather to demonstrate the ancient craft of blacksmithing. Visitors can experience live forging demonstrations, traditional metalworking techniques, and the heat and energy of the forge up close as red-hot steel is transformed into tools, artwork, and objects inspired by Ireland’s rich heritage of ironworking.

🔥 This year’s festival promises an even bigger celebration of craft and community, with Forged In Ireland bringing together blacksmiths, bladesmiths, heritage craftspeople, and makers for a weekend filled with sparks, skill, storytelling, and plenty of craic. Whether you are a long-time admirer of traditional crafts or discovering smithing for the first time, there will be something for all ages to enjoy.

Following the fantastic atmosphere of last year’s event — including the famous Golden Anvil Challenge and historical forging demonstrations — the 2026 gathering aims to continue celebrating Ireland’s living craft traditions while honouring the unique history and spirit of Fethard and its centenary celebrations.

🛠️ Expect roaring fires, flying sparks, friendly competition, handcrafted work on display, and the chance to meet some of Ireland’s most passionate smiths as Forged In Ireland returns to Fethard for another unforgettable weekend of fire and steel.

🍻 There will be a side-quest where Forged in Ireland members will test if McCarthy`s Pub can keep us as hydrated as they did last year!
