Paddy Smyth, owner of Smyth Hand Made Knives. I worked for a number of years as a chef and also trained as a butcher. Through having a keen interest in hunting, fishing and camping, I have used knives most of my life professionally and also for recreation.
Using my flair for detail and improved design and functionality I decided to make my own knives.
Through research, and trial and error I am completely self thought. I have honed my skills as a knife maker through sheer interest and passion of the art. All of my knives are hand made from blanks of various steels, planks of hard woods and full hides of leather. Our clients range from individual collectors to clients who are looking for a knife for a particular function; hunters, fishermen and gift collectors looking for something unique.
